Endure, Even When Misunderstood

You know that feeling of not being seen, heard, or even worse, being misunderstood? The feeling of someone dragging you through the mud with their thoughts, ideals, and judgments about you. The feeling of helplessness, where you cannot stop what has been started. The start of the stares, the discomfort of feeling different and being misunderstood.

You know the feeling that screams loudly in your heart, where you just want to yell to the world, “WHY WON’T YOU UNDERSTAND?”

You move through the motions from person to person, feeling small, as if your voice doesn’t matter. But worse than that, your voice brings a negative light to your character.

You know who was also misunderstood? Yeah, Him. Jesus.

Ain’t it crazy how His heart truly wanted people to know the truth, be free, and have joy in the Lord, but the very thing He wanted was misunderstood by those who just could not understand?

Jesus endured to the end, being misunderstood, not being heard by all, not being seen by all, and dying like a criminal on the cross.

That gives me courage. That makes it a little easier to carry that feeling.

To know that the only person who truly matters in understanding you—the whole you, mind, body, and spirit—is the Lord above.

May you rejoice in being misunderstood. May you endure in being misunderstood.

God left the ninety-nine for the one—the one who felt as if they didn’t belong, as if their life carried an empty sense of belonging.

You belong to Him. You are accepted by Him.
