Sit in your Anger with the King of the Universe

Who says that we can’t get angry with God?

Walking in obedience isn’t easy. People have been talking about it more and more on their platforms, pastors have been repeating it on their pulpits, but doing it is not an easy task. In walking in obedience with the Lord, you are going to feel all sorts of emotions, and yes, one of those emotions is anger.

Angry that it’s you. Angry that you feel that He is not walking with you. Angry that He could have prevented something from happening but decided to let you go through it anyway. Angry that you can’t see the finish line. Angry that you absolutely have no idea why He chose you to follow those specific instructions. It seems other people around you don’t have any instructions to follow. Angry where it seems that you are the only one walking this race, and everybody else gets to live by their own rules.

You start to question: Is this walk worth it? Is God worth it? Is walking in obedience worth it?

Usually, encouragement or a worship song would just change that around, but sitting in the emotion and allowing yourself to just have that brutally honest conversation with the King of the universe is okay too. You are His child. Eventually, He won’t allow you to sit in it too long.
