Struggling to Belong

You don’t belong anywhere. You tried to fit into your family. You tried to fit into your church. You tried to fit into your workplace. But you don’t belong anywhere.

Every moment where you felt a sense of belonging, a sense of comfort, a sense of just being yourself, you get pushed out. Pushed out into uncomfortable waters. Pushed out to start all over again.

"Lord, I don’t belong here."

I guess this is the journey of what being misunderstood means.

The longing to belong shunned your light. It made you feel as if your light didn’t matter, and eventually, you shrunk yourself into nothingness, no longer willing to occupy spaces.

When you belong to the Kingdom, it doesn’t matter who doesn’t like you, who doesn’t accept you, who looks at you in a negative light, who ignores you, who doesn’t fight for you, or who isn’t in your corner the way they used to be.

God is in your corner.

God has been fighting for you to belong to Him ever since He called you by name.

Take those thoughts captive and submit them to Christ.

Go look in the mirror and tell yourself, "I belong to the King of the universe, and my love for Him is enough to put a smile on my face and keep walking with Christ."
